4月13日週の振り返り

5営業日、濱口塾カウンセリング、BC講座スタート。

BCに関しては、効果の程は良くわからないが、テキストの構
成はなかなかで、各Unitがそれぞれ、IELTS本試験と同じよう
な感じで4セクション(L,R,W,S)から構成されている。
江戸義塾に続き、濱口塾の説明を聞いた。GMATは濱口塾で
お願いする予定。GMATは早い人でも700オーバーに4ヶ月か
かるらしい。英語の地力がついたら即座に始める。5月のIELTS
の結果を受けて、6月もしくは7月から始める。その間も、
IELTSは継続して受験し続ける。

  -濱口塾
  前回のリスケを受けて、4/14にフリーカウンセリングを実施。
  スケジュールはもっと厳しく考えたほうがよく、GMATで700
  超えるには最低でも4ヶ月は必要。今のペースだと、かなり遅
  い。5月もしくは6月でIELTS OA7.0まで持って行き、すぐに
  GMATに入る必要あり。
  <GMAT>
   教材に自信あり。GMATの過去問から難しい問題だけを抽出
  した独自の問題集を作成し、それをベースに問題を解きまく
  ることで受験生の底力を上げる方式。話は信憑性があったた
  め、GMATはここでお願いする方針。

  <ESSAY>
   濱口塾のエッセーは、日本語カウンセリング→日本語ドラフ
  トを元に、濱口塾で翻訳をしてくれる。3月時点で既に満席
  らしく、繁忙期の翻訳は既に受け入れてくれない。英文で記
  載した後の、推敲をすることは可能。
  エッセー作成にあたっては、濱口塾で用意している質問集か
  ら過去の経験を掘り下げていって、ネタをひねり出す。
   12/16 ~ 1/15は繁忙期なので、ここでの仕事は期待してはい
  けない。

  推薦書、application formなどの記載内容もすべてチェックし
  てくれる 。

  BCは積極的に発言するようにする。日本人コミュニティの中
  で遅れをとっている程度では、到底IMDは見えてこない。分か
  らないことはわからないことで意思を表明し、伝わらないこと
  があったら、言い方を家に帰って考える。
 ・Chicago boothのイベントへ行ってみる?

■所感
 ・濱口塾もなかなかよい手応え。GMATは濱口塾でお願いする
  こととした。
 ・Edから返信があった。ChallengingはMBAに取ってはいいこと
  で、BAとMAが違うことがアピールになりそう。International
  exposureは0かと思っていたが、実は今の仕事それ自体が
  International exposureとも考えられることに気がついた。
  School-Company-MyselfみんなにとってのWin-win-winを考える
  ことがとても重要。
 ・次のToolが来たので、これも合わせてEdに返信する。実はこ
  のやりとりが、IELTSにおけるWの練習になっている気もする。

4月6日週の振り返り

5営業日、夜間立会2日学校説明会1日。
実質2営業日しか割り当てられなかったはずだが、週末をちゃん
と使えたり、予備校、学校の説明を聞けたりとそれなりに収穫は
あった一週間だった。
IELTS9を試しに実施してみた。Lは9を狙いにいけるレベル。Rは
不得意分野もあるが、最低8であわせて行きたい。欲を言えば8.5
を超えて、WとSをカバーしたい。

面白いものを見つけた。信ぴょう性は不明。

  まずは凡ミスをなくすだけで36問ぐらいまでは行けそう。

  L:dialogueでうまく流れをつかめなくて◯をのがした部
    分が大半だった。先読みの際に、SECTION3のdialogue
    を重点的に読む。
  R:タイトル付与とNOTGIVENの選択が苦手そう。タイト
    ル付与はまぁ、ちゃんと読むしかない。NOTGIVENに
    関しては、ロジカルに答えを導く作業をちゃんとやる。
    Y/T:問題文に書かれていること
       例えば、彼は1位だったと本文でいっているのに
       対して、彼は優勝した。などと少しの言換えが入
       るものの、意味は変わらないパターン。
    N/F:問題文に書かれていることとは明確に違うこと
       例えば、彼は2着だったと本文で行っているのに、
       彼は1着だった。とか明らかに間違っているパター
       ン。
    NG:問題文に書かれていることからだけでは論理的
       に判断しきれないこと
       例えば、彼は先頭集団の一人としてゴールしたと
       行っているのに、彼は3位でゴールした。とか。
       先頭集団なので、3位の可能性もあるが、明確に
       は記載されていないため、答えようがない。
  今回の実験を受けて、以下のとおり目標設定。
   L:9(※最低でも8.5まで上げる)
   R:9(※最低でも8.5まで上げる。答えは目の前に書いてある。時間との勝負。)

  Edさんの誠実な人となりが伝わってきた気がした。信頼に
  値するカウンセラーだと評価した。濱口塾と比較してどち

  概 要:アプリカントのバックグラウンドを一緒に紐解き、
      Only oneのエッセー、推薦状、インタビューを実
      現するためのサービス。
      Good English Skill and High Score of GMATはと
      ても重要で、最低や平均を意識しても仕方がなく、
      最高で突入すべき。平均を下回った段階で、応募
      時にすでにビハインド。
      MBAでは学校で学ぶこと以上に、クラスメートか
      ら学ぶ。クラスメートは自分の経験から知見を見
      出し、クラスに提供する。その時自分は何を提供
      できるか?これがコントリビューション。
      文化的影響が大きいが、日本人は人前で自身を
      持って話すことが苦手。これを克服すべし。
      ありきたりなエッセーではなく、エッジの聞いた
      オンリーワンのエッセーを作るために、とにかく
      掘り返せ。その時間を確保するために、英語と
      GMATをさっさと終わらせろ。

■所感
 ・江戸義塾はなかなかよい手応え。First Private Meetingを受
  けて見ようと思う。
 ・IELTS9を実際にやってみて、LとRは比較的取り組みやす
  いことが分かった。稼ぎ頭にすべく、L:9,R:9を最終目標
  として6月に最低8まで持って行きたい。WとSで最低6.5ま
  で持っていければコンスタントに7が見えてくる。

referendum

5営業日、来客&送別会があったが、それなりに進めることが出来た。
Insight into IELTSの方が1 Practice あたりの分量が減った為だと思われ
る。また、その他軽目の英語勉強に関する本を買って読んでみた。ア
ウトプットの機会を増やすことと、インプットをべらぼうに増やすこ
とがポイント。音と映像の組み合わせで何度も見たくなる教材をネッ
トから探してみよう。
mac miniのiTunesをiPod touchからコントロールできるようにした。こ
れでmac miniを触る際に、いちいちmac bookを触らなくて良くなった。

■所感
 ・濱口塾のGMAT770は驚異的。受験のスケジュールにおいて
  5回しか受けられないGMATは慎重に進めるべし。受験→
  フィードバック→弱点強化→受験のサイクルを回すのに適
  切なサイクルは1.5〜2ヶ月と想定。年内4回、年明け1回
  とすると、6月〜7月に初回受験できるペースが理想。
 ・英語は6月の受験で7.0まで持っていきたい。5月の受験で
  6.5まで行けていれば可能性はかなりある。受験勉強を通じ
  て最低ラインを7.5に設定する。
 ・今現在GMATを受験するめどが立っていないため、9月の
  IMD最終はかなり難しい。5月のIELTS次第。
 ・金は惜しまない。必要かもしれないと思った物は片っ端か
  ら買っていこう。必要かどうかはその後に考えれば良い。
  IELTS本試験も一緒。受験するかどうかは、その時の状況
  から判断すれば良い。締め切りオーバー、定員オーバーに
  なってからでは後の祭り。
