3月23日週の振り返り

5営業日、夜間立ち会い+送別会で平日の勉強は2日しか出来な
かった。しかし、Oxford Saidの話を聞いてみたり、British Council
のクラスに申し込んでみたりと、いろいろと進みはあった。

  全体80人位。8割位男性、海外の方数名。
  Oxford saidのプログラム(MBA/EMBA)に関して説明して
  くれた。また、体験授業として実際に教鞭をとっている日本人
  の人が授業をしてくれた。理論だけでなく、実態経済に基づい
  ていることが重要と言っていた気がする。
  国の発展具合の推計方法、クズネッツカーブなどに関して話を
  していた。細かいところは分からなかったけど、話自体は面白
  かった。
  Oxford saidは元々候補として考えていなかったけど、Social
  Entrepreneur に重きを置いていると言う話は興味深かった。
  また、Oxford said独自の1+1MBAは非常に興味深いと思っ
  た。MBAを1年で終わらせずに、その後他の選考でMaster
  を取得する。大変そうだけど、かなり興味あり。
  Alumniは大きな学校であることにとても価値があったと言っ
  ていた。said自体は140人ぐらいで、どちらかと言うと小規
  模。入学後にcollegeに所属して活動をするらしいが、collage
  にはSaid以外の学生もいる為、いろいろな出会いがあり、それ
  が視野を広めるのに役にたったらしい。

3月16日週の振り返り

4営業日、トラブル対応+飲み会で平日の勉強は2日しか出来な
かった。 週末は3連休だったが、疲労もあり金曜は寝過ごしてし
まった。土日に関しては、British CouncilとAGOSへ行き、各々
IELTS対策講座に関する説明とレベルチェックみたいな物を受講。
両校で結果が全く異なったため、何が信じられるのかは分からな
いけど、British CouncilでIELTS対策講座を受講することを決め
た。

 ・British Council申し込み(10W Lesson start from 4/15)
 ・会社対応(計画表の提出)

■所感
 ・英語の勉強にはかなりの努力が必要そう。BCの表では
  Speakingのレベルで5.5-6.5、その他技能のレベルで7ぐら
  いの評価だが恐らく過大評価。良いとこOverallで6.0ぐらい
  が自己評価。
 ・二校のIELTS対策講座体験をして、writing&speakingには自
  己表現が必要であることを学んだ。適切に構成された文章に
  幅広い語彙、正しいな文法表現。これらをMIXして、如何に
  自由に英語を使えるかを示すのが重要。
 ・同じく社費留学の同期はTOEIC900 overでTOEFL 80とい
  う噂。かなり勉強をしているらしいので、負けずにがんばら
  ねば。

3月9日週の振り返り

週の前半は夜間立ち会い、週末は部会などイベントが重なったため
勉強は全然進まず。でも、Ivyへ行って話をしてみて収穫もあった。
日本人アプリカントにとっては英語が鬼門。TOELF/GMATいずれ
に於いても。GMATのVの為の単語は勉強しても仕方が無いらしい。
ネイティブでも人生に一度使うかどうかの専門用語が出てくるため、
類推しながら読んだと行っていた。また、英語の試験は
TOEFL> GMATと言っていた。

 ・留学予備校調査
  Ivy League Consulting
  Mattewと話をした。過去の経歴やこの先何をしたいかなどを話
  した。得た情報は以下の通り。
   −日本人アプリカントには英語が難しい。ひたすら勉強すべし。
   −GMATのVの単語は勉強しても意味なし。大意をつかむべし。
   −2年制スクールと1年制スクールの大きな違いは、キャリア
    チェンジを望むかどうかという点もある。
   −MBAの価値はNWにある。と言っていた。それって具体的に?
    って思うけど、皆そういうことを言う。
   −英語の勉強の為の教材など。
   −英語を聞くことはだいぶ出来るようになったが、話すことに
    大きな不自由がある。

  Interface
  改めてInterfaceの資料を精読してみた。とにかく高い。流石に
  手が出せない気がする。

  江戸義塾
  Edwardさんが個人で開講しているMBA用Private School。話
  を聞きに行きたいが、appointmentを取れるか?

  エッセーの推敲をしてくれる専門の会社。Ivy League卒業の担
  当者が、こちらからのインプットをベースにエッセーの推敲を
  行ってくれる。評判はかなり良さげ。

■所感
 ・MBAの為の予備校を探すというよりは、キャリアカウンセ
  ラーとしてより良い関係を築けそうなサービスを探したい。
 ・Speakingに関してはかなりの努力が必要そう。今日、久々
  に日本で英語を話したけど、全く言葉が出てこなくてちょっ
  と焦った。これは恐らく今まで英語で話したことが無い様な
  話題だったからと思う。
 ・キャリアプランに関して英語で語れるように、エッセー書き
  始めのネタとして練ってみる必要あり。日本語で考え、日本
  語で書き、英語に訳す。というチマチマした作業を少しずつ
  進めるべし。
